Lions International Diabetes Grant Opportunity

Dear Lion Leader,

We are excited to announce a special grant opportunity for Lions and Leos in your area. Lions Clubs International (LCI) and Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) are requesting proposals from Lions/Leos who are experienced in implementing diabetes prevention and control projects that fall within five general categories: camps/retreats, support groups, screenings, recreational facilities, and athletic activities. Proposals may be submitted from the club, district, or multiple district level and competitive funding from LCIF will be awarded based on eligibility.

The purpose of the projects is not only to support experienced Lions/Leos in expanding their existing diabetes efforts, but also for LCI and LCIF to learn how Lions/Leos successfully plan and implement diabetes projects and to identify additional resources that are needed to enhance project impact. Learnings will be used to develop interactive project planning tools and resources, training programs, partnership opportunities, etc. for each of LCI’s signature diabetes projects. These resources will become available in July 2018 when the diabetes service platform is officially launched.

This is an exciting opportunity, so please encourage Lions and Leos in your region that have demonstrated interest and experience in diabetes work to submit their proposals to Lions Clubs International by April 21, 2017. Submission process, eligibility, grant funding, and project criteria details can be found in the Request for Proposals and Proposal Submission Form. Any questions and all proposals must be submitted electronically to pilotprojects@lionsclubs.org.
